“Incredible: Mother Dog Conceals Her Pups in a Ditch for Safety”

A man made a post on Facebook in which he expressed his intentions of abandoning his dog and her nine puppies. However, upon seeing this post, the community sprang into action to ensure that the mother and her little ones received the care and attention they required. Nana, the mother dog, had been tied up outside her home in North Carolina for three years. Unfortunately, her first two litters did not survive after she gave birth three times. However, all nine puppies from her third litter survived, and despite this, her owner was keen on giving away all ten dogs.

In July, a man made a post about giving away his dogs. Knowing the situation, concerned neighbors took the dogs under their care. However, Faithful Friends Animal Sanctuary (FFAS) staff learned about the dog family and immediately knew they needed assistance. They reached out to Mr. Bones & Co. Rescue for help.

Elli Frank, the founder of Mr. Bones & Co, shared that they were sent images depicting the poor living conditions and state of an animal. According to Elli, the mother animal had transported her offspring to a ditch to shield them from the scorching sun in July. The sight saddened Elli deeply.

FFAS made a decision to take responsibility for the lovely family until the puppies were mature enough to be transported to New York where Mr. Bones & Co. is located. Meanwhile, the rescuers from Mr. Bones & Co. paid visits to Nana and her pups to help them gain confidence and ensure a smooth transfer when the time comes.

Frank shared that Nana’s owner had previously bred her twice, but unfortunately, all of her babies except for one had passed away. As a result, Nana became a very protective mother due to the neglect and loss she experienced. Frank and FFAS wanted to let Nana know that she was now in a safe environment and would continue to be protected.

Once acquainted with all the adorable little pups, it was decided that each one would be given a name inspired by the beloved characters of Peter Pan. The endearing names chosen for the pups include Peter Pan himself, Tinkerbell, Tiger Lily, Wendy, John, Michael, Cubby, Liza, and Jane.

The little canines thrived and blossomed as they grew up. Then, around mid-September, Pilots N Paws flew Nana and her brood to New Jersey, where they were met by Mr. Bones & Co. in order to be transported to their final destination in New York. It was a lengthy journey, but Nana and all of her pups made it to safety at last.

The moment of arrival marked the beginning of a new chapter for the nine Peter Pan puppies and Nana. Each little pup was ferried off to their assigned foster homes. Finally, the time had come to take Nana to her new foster home too. She felt a sense of safety and security wash over her as she sat snuggled up with her rescuers during the car ride, feeling a little drained from the long journey.

As we made frequent visits, she gradually developed confidence in us and entrusted her offspring to caring families who would take care of them until they found their forever homes. Frank added that she felt content knowing that she had fulfilled her responsibility and succeeded in securing her babies’ futures.

Nana and her pups are doing great in their foster homes, and there’s even talk of Nana’s fosters adopting her. The little ones are growing quickly, and those involved in their rescue are thrilled with how things have turned out. It was a tough journey to get them all to safety, but now they’re all content and secure.
