When Louie and Luna first arrived at STAR Rescue in Gainesville, FL, they were completely on their own. However, once they met, these two quickly became the best of pals and vowed never to be apart. They enjoy spending time with each other and especially love snuggling up and giving each other kisses.
James and his partner had their sights set on adopting a furry companion from the shelter – a dog was what they had in mind. But fate had other plans for them, as they both fell in love with not one, but two adorable kittens instead. Louie, an orange tabby, and Luna, a beautiful brown and orange Maine Coon, were inseparable from the start. In fact, the couple noticed that the bond between the two felines was stronger than they had expected, and it warmed their hearts to see how much they meant to each other.
Our search for a furry companion led us to realize that our apartment lifestyle and busy work schedules may not be the best fit for a dog. As much as we would love to have one, we understand that pets require a significant amount of time and attention, which we may not be able to provide with our current circumstances.
We considered getting a cat since I’ve had experience taking care of them and felt it would be the best choice to provide shelter for them.
After a fortnight, James and his soon-to-be wife revisited the shelter as they had developed an immense fondness for the two feline companions, with Luna being their favorite.
Their plan to adopt a cat from the shelter took a twist when they met Luna. The furry feline had a close bond with her pal Louie, and the couple couldn’t bear to separate them. They decided to bring both cats home and promised Louie a comfortable stay until he found a loving home. The couple showered their new furry friends with hugs and love, happy to have given them a second chance.
However, the initial arrangement proved to be short-lived, as Louie eventually found a permanent home through adoption.
Observing how comfortable and affectionate they were towards each other, we simply couldn’t bear to part with Louie. These two felines enjoy taking care of each other and cuddling up for naps. They even team up to tackle daily tasks! James joyfully shares that his furry companions have finally found a forever home where they can be together always.
