According to El Pais report, Luis Suarez is currently in the final stages of negotiations with Inter Miami.
According to reports, Suarez will finish the 2023 season with Gremio in the Brazilian League before reuniting with Lionel Messi on the Inter Miami front line. The two players had a great partnership at Barcelona in the 2010s, forming two-thirds of the “MSN” attacking trio alongside Brazilian star Neymar.
For a while now, Suarez has been rumored to be headed to Miami. These rumors gained momentum when Messi officially signed in July. Even head coach Tata Martino left open the possibility of Suarez joining the team. And when the club decided not to renew their contract with forward Josef Martinez, they left a spot open at the number 9 position for this veteran player.
According to reports from El Pais, Inter Miami is on the verge of signing a contract with a Uruguayan striker. The player, who will turn 37 in January, has already scored 10 goals and made 10 assists in 26 matches for Gremio, who currently sit third in the ongoing Serie A Brazil season.
Inter Miami is gearing up for the 2024 season with a serious approach, building on their historical Leagues Cup victory and Messi’s eighth Ballon d’Or award. Adding Suarez to the team will surely increase fans’ attention as the South Florida-based club plays its first match in the CONCACAF Champions Cup in February of next year.
